We asked Erin Bryson of Erin Bryson Makeup Artist to come with a quick and easy smokey eye tutorial and we can't be happier with the results and can hardly wait for you to try this look for yourself. "I wanted this tutorial to show that a smokey eye is very wearable and easily achieved by the everyday woman! This look only took me about 15 minutes, 3 brushes and 3 colors! So simple and so beautiful for any occasion!" Get started and we are sure you are going to love how it all turns out!
First, we want to take a fluffy blending brush, a neutral transition shade in our crease. I'm using the Morphe 441 and the Jaclyn Hill Palette. Using windshield wiper motions adding until we get the desired intensity.
Next, we will take a much smaller, condensed brush and a deeper chocolate brown focusing this on the outer corner. Use smaller circular motions to blend this color into our crease.
Finally, using a flat shader brush, pick up a beautiful golden champagne color for our lid. In light patting motions add shimmer to your lid.
Continue packing color onto your lid until your satisfied! Then your smokey eye is complete!
To finish off the look, add some extra mascara on your top and bottom lashes and a lipstick! I choose a light pink color that really made my eyes pop!
Let's be honest, wedding planning can be overwhelming at times. Moments when it seems all consuming and slightly exhausting are moments when you need a break. Time to escape, rejuvenate and refresh, in order to be your best and enjoy the process. Let's take a moment to just that with these amazing DIY body scrub recipes that will leave your skin feeling soft and supple and your mind feel at ease.
Sugar or Salt Body Scrub
Sugar scrubs and salt scrubs are great for exfoliating the body and the face. No need to spend tons to get the same effect as store-bought scrubs that contain these simple ingredients easily found in your cabinets: sugar or salt, body oil and perhaps, an essential oil plus a nice, warm bath.
Choose a sugar that has small granules that won't tear at the skin i.e. regular sugar, brown sugar, or coconut sugar. A basic table salt works wonderfully but a fine Himalayan salt can work just as well. A word of caution, homemade scrubs can be abrasive to sensitive skin. If your skin is sensitive to essential oil or prone to intense flareups, skip the scrubs all together.
The recipe is one part oil and two parts sugar or salt. For your face, mix two teaspoons of body oil with four teaspoons of sugar or salt. Consider the areas of your body you wish to exfoliate in determining the amount you will need to make. Arms and legs plus hands and feet will require a larger amount than just the face.
Almond Oil Body Scrub
The first body scrub was meant to exfoliate your skin, this body scrub is meant to hydrate your skin. There's nothing quite like a body scrub that makes your skin feel alive and at its best. The recipe for this almond oil body scrub is simple. You will need one cup of plain or brown sugar, a half of a cup of sweet almond oil, five Vitamin E capsules, and a few drops of your favorite essential oil. Make sure to mix the ingredients well because you do not want a runny consistency.
Once mixed, step into the shower and rinse your body to wet your skin. Starting at your neck, work the scrub into the skin by massaging in a circular motion. This body scrub is perfect for your entire body so pay special attention to any super dry areas like your elbows, the back of your arms and your feet. Once completely covered, rinse thoroughly, pat dry and moisturize. Say hello to beautiful, soft skin.
THE TALENTS OF MAKEUP ARTIST CASEY TROULIAS
THE BEGINNING For as long as I can remember, I've always had a love and passion for makeup. I have an older sister who is my idol and she started working at Sephora when I was a teenager. She would get gratis products and give me whatever she didn't want and I would have a field day! I've been doing makeup artistry now for about five years. Back in 2012, I was sitting in a classroom at Jacksonville State majoring in Forensics and I remembering just waking up thinking "What am I doing here?" I knew I wasn't where I was meant to be, so I walked out of class and began to practice doing my art! Just a short year later, I was booking my own clients.
THE CONSULTATION Typically, my first meeting with a bride is at their trial run. I always ask my brides a series of questions: "Do you have a picture of your dress?" "How would you destine your bridal style?" "What's your color scheme? Flowers, bridesmaids dresses, etc" From there, I get a pretty good understanding of who my bride is and what her idea of the "perfect bridal look" means to her.
THE SERVICE We offer full face applications that include a flawless base with airbrush foundation. If you've never experienced it before, it is truly a treat. While the foundation can create a perfect canvas free from any imperfections, it also feels weightless and is extremely long wearing. Which with our weather in the south, it's a must have for your big day! False lashes are included with all pricing as well. We can provide tattoo cover-ups if needed, too! All services can be offered on location or in studio, whatever is most convenient for you <3
THE PROFESSIONAL ADVICE I always recommend to hydrate your skin, both from the inside and out. Healthy skin starts with your water intake so drink in all the H2O! Use a night cream before bed to allow it to soak in while you're sleeping and then a light moisturizer during the day (yes, even you oily ladies) Exfoliate your skin several days before your wedding. Also, don't get your eyebrows waxed or threaded too close to the big day! You don't want your skin to have any sort of visible irritation.
THE PASSION My favorite part is definitely making women feel beautiful, as clichè as that sounds. My main goal is to have each client walking away with more confidence than when they came in. I also love getting to form relationships with my clients while they're sitting in my chair. I want to become your best friend! So add me on social media so I can watch your relationship with your spouse transform over the years. I love getting to see your families grow and know that I played a part in the start of your journey! THE VISION My vision for my company has always been to eventually have my own line of cosmetics. The dream would be all cruelty free cosmetics and that I could donate a portion of every sale to fund animal shelters. As for short-term, I hope to just continue growing as I have been over the years. I hope that I'll always be blessed to have my clientele booked solely from word of mouth! Nothing is more special to me than that.

How long have you been practicing your craft? What was your inspiration to begin this career? I have been doing friends hair and makeup for as long as I can remember! It has always been something that brought me so much joy. Not just to create looks, but to see each person feel so beautiful. That is what inspires me now to continue - women of all ages feeling confident and beautiful in their skin. I love it!!
What is your process when meeting a bride for their initial consultation? What is your inspiration? At the trail run it is all about getting to know my bride. How she met her fiancé, how they feel in love, what her vision for the big day is… her whole story. I think the way a bride looks on her wedding day is just an extension of who she is on the inside. So, I want to get to know her so that I can showcase her incredible beauty. That processes in and of itself is inspiring. Each bride is so different, each story is different, so it is ever changing and that continually inspires me.
What are your services do you provide for a bride/bridal party on the day of the wedding? What services do you provide in studio? I am a freelance, on-site, hair and makeup artist. So, I come to you to get you ready for your big day. I style hair and do makeup!
What are your tips for a bride in preparing for their wedding day as it relates to healthy hair and skin? Water, water, water!! The best way to care for your skin (and body!) is to stay hydrated. There is nothing that can make your skin glow like being hydrated!
What is your favorite part of what you do? What is your vision for your business short-term and long-term? I can’t pick just one favorite. There are two that are tied. First, I love seeing people feel confident in their skin. I love allowing people to see their incredible beauty. I firmly believe that God created each person beautifully and it is such a joy to be able to showcase that in each person that I work with. Second, growing this business has been fun and fascinating for me. It was a big leap of faith to start this and I had to overcome a lot of insecurities that I had about running my own business. I have learned so much, and feel so blessed to call this my job. So that is also a favorite… that I LOVE what I do and it really doesn’t feel like work!
For my business right now, I am really focusing on providing the best service that I can. I think a large part of my job as making the Brides morning goes as smoothly and stress-free as possible. And eventually, (like in 14-15 years ha!!) it would be a dream to work with my daughter!! I have so many hopes of getting to teach her not only the how of this business but also the why. I would really love to one day be tag-teaming weddings with her and bonding over our love for this art!
Seeking that soft, bouncy curl look for your bridal shower or rehearsal dinner? It only takes three simple steps to achieve this look! Brush gently when finished curling your hair and you are ready to shine!

What is your favorite trend currently in makeup and skincare? The Farm to Skin movement is ahhhhhmazing! I am obsessed with the influx of holistic apothecary goods and indie beauty brands that are emerging in the world of skin care.
