Mr. & Mrs. Austin & Taylor Justice
It all began with a casual meeting with introductions from a mutual friend in the Fall of 2011. Not exactly love at first sight but definitely something there to catch Taylor's eye. She was a freshman at the University of Alabama and he was a sophomore at Birmingham Southern University. Who knew that moment would change their lives forever.
"We were friends for a while and things really got serious in the Spring of 2012", Taylor recalls. Although, she did not fall for Austin instantly, it didn't take her long to realize he was "the one". However, Austin seemingly knew much sooner and confessed his love to Taylor one night shortly after they started dating. Taylor admits, responding that she loved him too only to text him later that night to "take it back" because "it was so soon." It took a couple of months but Taylor finally caught up with the love train that had already left the station.
"He made me laugh and...he made me feel at home from the moment I met him. It just felt right with him!" Taylor conveys her desire to "marry someone who I could truly share every aspect of life with and that's Austin."
Having their relationship officially began at the beach, it was only fitting that their full circle moment take place at the beach. We agree with Taylor that with Austin "there's never a dull moment..."
On July 23, 2016, after four years of dating, Austin executed the perfect plan to propose to Taylor with the help of their family members and friends in a place that will forever mean so much to them.
An innocent family trip to the beach with his family was the setting. The ruse was the traditional family portraits on the beach dressed in all white that Austin's mother requested since she had never done this before. "Austin and his siblings kept it a true secret by complaining all week about having to take these photos." Taylor recalls that she wasn't too excited about the task either. However, when Saturday came she was ready but there was a twist.
Austin's mother decided she wanted to take the photos at the local state park, St. Andrews. Since Austin and Taylor were seemingly the first to get ready, they headed out ahead of the others. While walking along the beach in search of his family, Taylor was unaware that "we were following the photographer to a spot that was secluded." Austin's power of distraction came into play while the photographer set up a treasure chest in the sand along the beach that contained a note for Taylor. Once the treasure chest was in place, Austin led Taylor to down to the chest and pulled out the note. He read the note and proceeded to ask Taylor to marry him.
In the moments that followed, Austin's "lost" family members appeared and they were accompanied by Taylor's parents. Now there was a real reason to take pictures, "lots of pictures". The celebration included dinner at a local restaurant, followed by a mini party at the beach house where they were staying. A day, Taylor adds, "I still relive...whenever I can!"
Being a wedding planner and a member of Becky's Brides, Taylor is no strange to planning amazing weddings. She had a vision and one of the elements of that vision involved finding the perfect dress with sleeves. Her Allure Bridals fit and flare gown with "gorgeous lace sleeves" from Diane's Formal Affair truly fit the bill.
In a setting best described as timeless and romantic, on March 11, 2017, with nearly 250 family members and friends in attendance, Austin and Taylor said "I DO!" Taylor recounts, "my favorite part of our entire day was eating our first meal together as husband and wife. As soon as we walked down the aisle, we walked into a private room where we just sat and talked and cried happy tears."
Even with the best laid plans, there are hiccups. Taylor and Austin's hiccup was rain! According to Taylor, it rained "All. Day. Long!" However, rain wasn't a strong enough element to deter a bridal party of 22 and a father determined to share a special dance with his daughter after a recent cancer scare. Nothing was going to stop this celebration! Here's to Taylor and Austin. Here's to father/daughter dances. And, here's to a little Juju on the Beat!
