For Bailey Doyle and Richard Alexander Sherman, it all began on the campus of Samford University and the realization that the two shared all of their classes together. Moments spent walking to and from classes, led to moments spent laying a foundation for a lifetime together.
Although the first time that Alex uttered the words of love for Bailey, wasn't the ideal moment he planned, he was the first to voice that love and was able to make it a memorable experience for the both of them. This is a clear reflection of what makes Alex so special to Bailey. "His heart for people".
Bailey and Alex settled into a life together filled with cooking, eating, a love for the great outdoors, movie watching and enjoying the company of family and friends ever chance they are able to do so.
Although Bailey and Alex participated in pre-engagement counseling and the expectation that a proposal would soon ensue, Alex once again made the moment especially special. Bailey recalls, "Alex picked me up from my house and then we went to Octane to grab coffee. Once we got back in the care, we started driving about an hours later we pulled into Horse Pens 40. He then led me to the overlook. This overlook is where we came the first time we skipped class to talk." A full circle moment and the start of something new!
On their wedding day, Bailey's vision for three specific things was clear. She had to wear her mother's dress, she wanted to walk down the aisle to "Sliding Down" by Edgar Meyers and a doughnut wall was a total must. The vision of their day came together beautifully on June 10, 2017 in front of a gathering of 350 of their nearest and dearest.
In a 10:30 morning wedding ceremony at Covenant Presbyterian Church, with Alex's father officiating and Bailey's grandfather praying over the couple, the day was an opportunity for the couple to profess their love and vow to share forever together as well as allow their family and friends to feel loved and cherished during the journey.
